New Moon Musings

So here I am posting my first blog.  There was a new moon yesterday and I found three things I've been trying to find for the last few months.  Is there a connection?  It seems my creative juices get flowing too and I get more ideas of things I want to make, but life always seems to get in the way.

Tomorrow is the Ides of March, so I wonder what's brewing?  -- Perhaps a keg of green beer with St. Paddy's day on the horizon this weekend on March 16 as well!!  So much happening this month.

I'm just recovering from a significant skiing accident about 6 weeks ago, so am only just getting around without a crutch or a cane and starting to use my right arm again, though it's still hard not to overdo it and to keep up with the routine of physio exercises multiple times a day.  I think my brain has been in slow-mo for the past month and a half while I've been recovering.  But I've had lots of time to reflect on things... like whether I shouldn't be spending more time on my creative arts instead of trying to continue to be the athlete I was 30 years ago!  It's been fun, but maybe my body is telling me it's time to change directions.  It may be time for my brain to change tack too.

I was trying out a new sewing machine today with a friend and I think I'm falling in love with the craft all over again.  So many beautiful things to create and the technology just keeps getting better and better - be it free-motion thread painting with a "stitch regulator"; embroidery; needle punch, fiber art, or combining all three with the traditional craft of quilting and sewing.

The first thing I think I need to make is my "healing mandela colour wheel"..  I'd like to think that may open up my energy to get on with the many projects I have piled up in my reserves but never seem to get started, or if they get started they have met with one road block or another and create another pile of UFO's.  Too many ideas and too little time!

I seem to keep adding to the blogs I like to follow on occasion, but decided it was time to start adding a few thoughts and ideas of my own.  So this is my start.  Perhaps it will spur me on to get some works of my own completed so I can share back with the community the so many wonderful inspirations I have seen.  We'll see!!
